Chancelier Palpatine exploita alors les visions d'Anakin pour lui révéler son identité réelle, et pour lui faire croire que seul le Côté Obscur pouvait sauver Padmé d'une mort certaine, que même le plus puissant Jedi ne pourrait éviter. Ébranlé par cette nouvelle, Anakin informa Mace Windu que le Chancelier était ce Seigneur Sith qu'ils recherchaient tant depuis le début du conflit.
Chancellor Palpatine therefore took advantage of Anakin's visions to reveal to him his true identity, and to make him believe that only the Dark Side could save Padmé from certain death, which even the most powerful Jedi could not prevent. Shaken by this revelation, Anakin informed Mace Windu that the Chancellor was the Sith Lord they had been looking for since the start of the conflict.
