我 有 一只 小 鸟。

Wǒ yǒuyī zhǐ xiǎo niǎo.

I have a little bird.

A herd of cows was standing in the field. 

手 - a hand

他 有 一双 大 手。

Tā yǒu yīshuāng dàshǒu. 

He has big hands.

gedämpft - steamed, cooked in steam

Magst du gekochten oder gedämpften Brokkoli lieber?

Do you prefer to boil broccoli or steam it?

die Wand - the wall (of a house)

Sie hängte ein Bild an die Wand.

She hung a picture on the wall.

 

Ein Haus besteht nur aus vier Wänden und einem Dach.

A house is just four walls and a roof.

schützen - to protect, preserve

Das Dach schützt das Haus vor Regen.

The roof protects the house from rain.

Ich sah einen Vogel auf dem Dach.

I saw a bird on the roof.

寄 - to mail

我 给 妈妈 寄了 礼物。 

Wǒ gěi māma jìle lǐwù. 

I have mailed the gift to mom.

déblayer - to clear away, or remove, dégager un lieu des choses qui l’encombrent

Il faut déblayer le terrain avant de commencer à construire le bordel. 

We must clear the terrain before beginning to build the brothel.

schmeltzen - to melt

Der Schnee ist schon geschmolzen.

The snow has already melted.

 

Die Schokolade schmilzt unter der Sonne.

Chocolate melts in the sun. 

一样 - same as, just like

他 和 他 的 哥哥 一样。

Tā hé tā dí gēgē yīyàng. 

He is just like his older brother.

用 - to use

他 和 中国人 一样 用 筷子。 

Tā hé zhōngguó rén yīyàng yòng kuàizi.

He uses chopsticks like a Chinese person.

bosser - to work, toil

Le ministre apparaît toujours avec ses manches retroussées, comme pour dire : moi, je bosse.

The minister always shows up with his shirtsleeves rolled up, as if to say: I too work.

une ruche - a beehive

Nous sommes très occupés ! C'est une ruche, ici ! Tu es comme une limace parmi les abeilles.

We are very busy!  It is a beehive here!  You are like a slug among the bees.

The arrow hit the center of the target.

红 - red

Wǒ de hóng qiānbǐ zài nǎli?

Wǒ de yāzi zài nǎlǐ?

Where is my duck?

走路 - to walk, go on foot

我 可以 走路 回家。 

Wǒ kěyǐ zǒulù huí jiā. 

I can walk home.

Àoyùnhuì kāimù le. 

The Olympic games are opening.

Forks and knives are used for eating in many countries.

She fried the vegetables in olive oil.

schmecken - to taste

Das Essen schmeckt wirklich gut.

The food tastes really good.
