raffoler - to be taken with, love dearly

Raffoler, ça veut dire être follement épris de quelqu'un, avoir un goût très vif pour quelque chose.

"To be taken with" means to be crazy in love with someone, or have a great admiration for something. 

 

Après sa vigne de Château-Neuf, ce que le pape aimait le plus au monde, c’était sa mule. Le bonhomme en raffolait de cette bête-là.

After his vineyard at Château-Neuf, the thing that the pope loved the most in the world was his mule.  The old man was totally enamored of that beast.
