un attentat - an attack

Nous souhaitons tous que George W. Bush n'ait pas gaspillé la bonne volonté presque mondiale dont les États-Unis ont bénéficié après les attentats du 11 septembre.

We all wish that George W. Bush hadn't squandered the near global goodwill that the United Stated enjoyed after the attacks of Spetember 11.
